STEPHEN TALKS TO DIGBY JONES CBI

DIGBY JONES CBI

“Sorry I am late” said Digby as he entered the spacious meeting room, “I was just on the phone to Gordon.”

“Gordon who?” Stephen Duckworth asked.

“Gordon Brown” he replied. It was the day after the Budget so Digby Jones was extremely busy. Notwithstanding this he demonstrated his own personal commitment to disability issues by spending some time talking with Stephen Duckworth about the implications to British business of 2.7 million disabled people on Incapacity Benefit. The discussion was wide ranging covering areas of absence management, rehabilitation and public sector/private sector partnerships. There is little doubt that Digby Jones is committed to promote employment opportunities for disabled people and not only because there is currently a significant labour shortage.
